This spring, the Werf became home to the Spier Farm Kitchen at the Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch winelands.
“We meticulously restored the werf so that it could once more become a hub of activity – where agriculture, artisan food and creativity find expression,” Mariota Enthoven, Spier’s family owner says.
“The opening of the Spier Farm Kitchen – which is housed in a building more than 200-years-old overlooking this historic farmyard – is the latest step in bringing this dream to life.”
From our farm salads to handcrafted pies: The Farm Kitchen offers everything you need to create your own delicious picnic as well as an assortment of gourmet goodies for your fridge and pantry. Executive Chef Lolli Heyns and her team use seasonal produce grown at Spier or sourced from trusted local suppliers to create nutritious, farm-inspired food.
