Filmed by leading local TV Production Company, Okuhle Media and featuring talented executive chef, Neill Anthony, “Neill Anthony – The Private Chef” will provide viewers with a rare glimpse into the high-pressured world of what it takes to cater for South Africa’s high society and A-list socialites.
The 13-part TV Series is scheduled to premier on SABC 3 in March, followed by an international distribution via Okuhle Media’s global distributor, Zodiak Rights.
Originated and filmed by Okuhle Media, the TV Series is a joint venture production with Chef Neill Anthony, who spent 10 years in Europe honing his skills in the professional kitchens of Gordon Ramsay, Alyn Williams, Jerome Henry and Marcus Waering. On his return to the Mother City, he became a personal chef, cooking Michelin-star quality food for his clients in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
Set in cosmopolitan South Africa and directed by the SAFTA Award Winning Director, Chris Lotz, “Neill Anthony – The Private Chef” is currently in production and offers a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the homes of Neill’s prestigious clients, socialite friends, and fun-loving acquaintances as he takes otherwise ordinary dining experiences and transforms them into exclusive fine dining extravaganzas.
Each 26-minute episode begins in Neill’s contemporary modern loft apartment in the heart of Cape Town before he heads out to source the freshest local ingredients for that day’s event.
As a down-to-earth and humble chef with a passion for good food, Neill uses only the best in local, seasonal, and sustainable produce as he believes this translates to better food on the plate.
His local is lekker approach will take viewers on a colourful journey through the bustling streets of Cape Town and surrounds as he shares valuable “how to” tips and ‘sourcing secrets” ahead of each glittering event. The Series will broadcast weekly on SABC 3 on Sundays from 15 March.
