Known for an innovative and passionate approach to the relaxed enjoyment of quality food and wine, Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards invites guests to its generous Kitchen Table. Setting the scene in a refurbished, trendy kitchen, the table is warm and welcoming despite its sleek and modern look.
It is around this table that the exciting programme of Cooking Demonstrations are presented.
The programme for the first quarter of 2018 covers a wide array of culinary disciplines and food styles – from a Coastal Road Trip focusing on sustainable South African seafood to understanding the intricacies of spice, the intrigue of regionality in Italian cuisine and the pure decadence and delight of sweets and desserts.
The amicable Chef Pieter de Jager demonstrates the thematic dishes while involving participants in all aspects of cooking and guide them to better understand dishes and recipes, to practice technique and to confidently identify tastes and finding a complementing wine match.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Kitchen Table turns into a South African Table around which those interested in culinary culture can share an authentic South African lunch, enjoy Cape wine and join the conversation on the origin and development of the local gastronomy. On weekends the 20-seater centre-piece table hosts families and friends to celebrations and get-togethers, then aptly called the Family Table.
Popular among young and old the Leopard’s Leap Rotisserie offers juicy cuts complemented by a Harvest Table with seasonal sides and salads. The picture is completed by the comprehensive selection of Leopard’s Leap wines – available at cellar door prices in the restaurant and to taste in the modern Tasting Room.
Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards brings a modern, informal and family-friendly addition to the Franschhoek restaurant scene. There is no compromise on quality when it comes to the food and wine, the facilities are beautiful and spacious and children are catered for with a special menu, play park and stretched lawns where they can play to heart’s content.

9 February – Spices of the World
Enjoy the fragrance and variety of spices from all over the world. From sweet cinnamon to fiery chilli, intricate cardamom to luxurious saffron. Join Chef Pieter de Jager for an introduction to the intoxicating world of spice and learn to use them to their utmost in a variety of dishes.
2 March – Flavours of Lombardy
Whether it is the decadence of Risotto alla Milanese, the heartiness of Ossobuco or the traditional delight of Panettone, make an acquaintance with the charm and delight that is the food of northern Italy.
6 April – Sweet, Shweet, Swiet
Heaven to those with a sweet tooth, Chef Pieter guides guests through a tempting array of delicate pastries and moreish desserts. Sweets in all its shapes and forms!
