Eat Out, SA’s best guide to SA’s best food, has made several exciting announcements about this year’s prestigious restaurant awards. For the second consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) will be the title sponsor of the event held at Mistico Equestrian Centre, 40 minutes outside Cape Town, on 15 November 2015.
Eat Out has refreshed its traditional format and is promising a more intimate and multi-sensory event, with the most notable change that it will be hosted as a Sunday lunch.
“Guests can expect an unforgettable dining experience at this year’s Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards. The equestrian theme will be integrated into the pre-drinks and entertainment, culminating in an extraordinary experience for all the senses,” says Aileen Lamb, General Manager of Eat Out. “We are returning to a traditional Sunday lunch, which is the epitome of South African food heritage. Bringing together our community to celebrate, we intend to weave some unique Eat Out magic through this nostalgic meal.”
A further change to this year’s restaurant awards is that for the first time, the categories formerly known as the ‘Best of’ awards will be announced at separate events and be renamed the Best Everyday Eateries. In October, two successive events will be hosted – one in Johannesburg and one in Cape Town.
The Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards, however, remain the most prestigious accolades for fine dining restaurants, their chefs and the culinary industry in South Africa. This year’s event will be an intimate event with limited tickets on offer.
